The Group Lead Strategic Pricing & Contracting EP/HF, will be working in support of the Medical Devices US Sales Division, the Group Lead Strategic Pricing & Contracting analyst will interface with Sales, Sales Management, Sales Operations, Marketing, Finance, Legal, OCE, and Customer Service to apply business management principles and financial concepts to that maximize the company’s performance against sales and profit goals and minimize risk.Position will support the following Business Units: Electrophysiology (EP) and Heart Failure (HF).  The ideal candidate must proactively research, analyze, and interpret data to produce substantiated recommendations and to work effectively in a high-pressure, high-demand sales support environment.

Main Responsibilities:

Analysis, strategy development, and decision making.  Oversee contracting and contacting related activities for a team of Strategic Pricing & Contract analysts. Responsible for contract related analysis for a set geographic territory such as pricing, contract development and contract execution. Must possess ability to understand the level of data needed and technical skills to build custom models and analysis to support decision making process. This includes the ability to identify and derive data from the appropriate systems and build analytical models across multiple data sets that can be adjusted to satisfy various proposal structures.Supports the Strategic Pricing & Contracting Manager with the development and implementation of price approvals, contract creation and execution. Works within audit guidelines for contract approval and contract creation. Responsible for hosting weekly team meetings and training sessions to instill and reinforce product contracting knowledge and skills as well as the adoption of best practices among team members.Understand and help train field teams and fellow analysts on internal policies, including USP&P, contract compliance guidelines, and Price approval directives.  Guide field sales on modifications to existing pricing structures and contract programs, contractual terms, and guidelines for successful contract administration.  Supports management and IT regarding improvements in the contract development area.Participates as an instructor in contracts training program with field sales and sales management.Assists Strategic Pricing & Contracting Manager with team goal setting, performance assessment, performance reviews, performance improvement coaching, personal and professional development mentoring, on-boarding and training.Maintains subject matter expertise (SME) across Electrophysiology (EP) and Heart Failure (HF) as it relates to contact structure, standard and exception business and legal terms as well as product programs design/capability.Required to negotiate contractual terms with external customers. Must have an understanding of the terms and conditions, contract structures and processes/systems to hold meaningful discussions while representing Abbott in a professional manner. Must be able to advise on appropriate structures from a business perspective and have a basic understanding from a legal perspective; as well as ensure there are resources and systems to support. Review and redline business terms and coordinate with Legal on contract redlines. This includes working with customer templates and ensuring appropriate vetting through other departments which may include IP legal, privacy, OEC, LR&C, tech services, security, finance, risk management and customer service amongst others. Must be able to appropriately determine the correct department for review, talk through customer requests and associated risks as well as incorporate responses into contractual terms.Execution of formal requests for proposals (RFPs) that may be on customer contract templates and require specialized formatting of documents and price files. Information required of the RFP is often varied, including customized product cross references, company/product information and analyses reflective of the Medical Device portfolio. Assists in team talent development and engagement to better understand the drivers of the business, customers, partners, and competitors while assisting in the coordination and implementation of marketing strategies, and delegating tasks that achieve strategic goals.

Education And Experience You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree MBA preferred Required 7+ years of experience in business, finance or strategic pricing and contracting is required. Prior experience as Abbott Medical Devices Business Analyst in a Business Unit is preferred. Excellent written and oral communications skills with attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, ability to work with general supervision, must be autonomous. Leadership, problem solving, and negotiation skills Strong analytical, strategic, and problem-solving skills required. High level technical skills to build customized analytics based on customer situation. Ability to recognize technical needs and work to build and implement tools that can support the broader Enterprise Accounts Business Analyst team. Proficient in the use of Word and PowerPoint. Demonstrated advanced skills in Excel Strong quantitative & qualitative analysis skills, including experience working with large data sets Customer-service oriented mind frame and skill sets Demonstrated ability to work seamlessly with remote sites & business partners including building relationship with Sales personnel to be highly effective Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Prior project management and consignment inventory experience preferred

The base pay for this position is $97,300.00 – $194,700.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
