Group Leader - Avionics Assembler - 5th Shift

Shift 5th: Monday & Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM AND Saturday & Sunday: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM

\n

Training will be on 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift. 

The pay rate for this role is $32.41/hour plus $1.10/hour shift differential. 

Train, direct and motivate a group of employees to meet quality and production/service requirements and support/promote the Company's participative/team management philosophy.

\n

Key Responsibilities:

\n

WORK DIRECTION

\n\n\tAssign/shift employees as needed to ensure all jobs have adequate coverage and work schedules are met.\n\tMonitor employee performance to ensure jobs are being done per specifications.\n\tMotivate/reinforce good employee work habits and where appropriate correct poor work habits.\n\n

COMMUNICATION

\n\n\tMeet with supervisor to plan work schedules and discuss potential problems with meeting schedules.\n\tNotify supervisor of department problems ie. quality, employee performance etc...\n\tCommunicate as necessary with off shift personnel, and Group Leaders in different departments.\n\n

TRAINING

\n\n\tExplain step-by-step process of a new job to workers and demonstrate how job is to be performed.\n\tTrain employees how to read/understand factory layouts.\n\tEmphasize quality of work to employees during training process and monitor work and employees' attitude toward quality carefully during training period.\n\tOrient employees on department products.\n\tTeach proper labor reporting.\n\n

SCHEDULING

\n\n\tSchedule work based on priority, materials, parts and supplies availability and work schedule requirements.\n\tEstablish priorities for which jobs are to be done first.\n\tMaintain schedule/records as necessary.\n\tMonitor work schedules to make efficient set-ups and plan future set-ups.\n\n

LABOR TICKET ACTIVITY

\n\n\tMonitor labor tickets of employees and correct identified errors.\n\tEnsure that tally sheets/labor tickets are turned in daily from each worker.\n\n

HOS  

\n

Embrace and engage in the Honeywell Operating System (HOS) including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.

\n

 

\n

MACHINE SET-UP, CHECK AND APPROVAL

\n\n\tOversee machine/tool/equipment set-up.\n\tCheck to ensure that a machine/equipment/workplace is set-up properly per the job requirement.\n\tGive operator approval to run a job subject to quality O.K. when applicable.\n\n

SAFETY

\n\n\tExplain, demonstrate and teach employees department safety regulations/policies and enforce employee compliance.\n\tOversee general housekeeping of assigned work area.\n\tInsure for the proper labeling, recordkeeping and move orders of hazardous/explosive materials.\n\n

ENGINEERING INTERFACE

\n\n\tWork with Engineering to resolve problems related to parts, supplies, equipment and/or processes.\n\tAssist Engineering in the design process of new products, systems and/or construction.\n\n

PRODUCTION

\n\n\tCoordinate the required activities and ensure production schedules are met.\n\tMonitor individual and group performance reports.\n\tComplete required production reports.\n\n

INVENTORY/MATERIAL HANDLING

\n\n\tMaintain inventory levels required to meet production needs.\n\tAccount for all materials/parts/supplies coming in and leaving group area.\n\n

MACHINE MAINTENANCE/REPAIR

\n\n\tMake necessary repairs or adjustments on machines/equipment within the scope of the job and call appropriate discipline for repair outside the job scope.\n\tMaintain minimum-maximum machine/equipment spare part levels as prescribed.\n\n

QUALITY CONTROL/INSPECTION

\n\n\tCheck for proper inspection/assembly procedures and if job does not meet quality standards terminate job and facilitate corrective action.\n\tSuggest adjustments in inspection procedures as necessary.\n\n

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

\n\n\tWorks in Air-Conditioned area.\n\tNo Smoking, Drinking or Eating in area.\n\tSafety Glasses with Side Shields may be required.\n\tMay be required to pass eye exam.\n\tMust pass solder certification.\n\tMust maintain good housekeeping practices.\n\tHandles light to average weight materials.\n\n

The annual base salary range for this position is $32.41. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
