Minimum requirements for the role:
A tertiary degree in business or finance or engineering or related is essential for the role. Must have strong analytical skills and ability to translate information into business plans. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills enabling executive level collaboration across the group. Must have a demonstrated ability to navigate complex business decisions and environments and engage and influence senior management and stakeholders. A firm understanding of the Namibian economy. Previous experience having worked within a corporate strategy, business development, consulting, or a similar leadership role operating at an exec level on EXCO is essential for the role. A proven track record in leading high-impact strategic initiatives, particularly in energy, infrastructure, or related industries. Is preferred. The successful candidate must have a strong financial acumen with experience in M&A, investment analysis, innovation strategies and risk management or related. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Collaborating closely with executive leadership team in shaping the group’s long-term strategic direction. The successful candidate will spearhead transformative initiatives, with a strong focus on Namibia’s burgeoning energy sector, while driving business growth, innovation, and market expansion into other sectors of the market as well. Identifying, developing and executing high-impact strategic initiatives across the group, leveraging insights from global and local trends, particularly in the energy sector. Sourcing, evaluating and structuring innovative business opportunities, including strategic partnerships and investment ventures that align with national and regional priorities. Preparing and delivering robust investment cases to the investment committee, ensuring alignment with the group's strategic objectives. Leading negotiations, due diligence, execution and integration of strategic investments, driving measurable value creation post-transaction. Cultivating strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including sector experts, cross-industry partners, international technical partners and government. Establishing and maintaining a strong professional network, positioning the group as a leader in its chosen sectors. Working closely with senior finance teams to assess financial viability and risk exposure for growth initiatives. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
