Group Product Manager - Metrics

As the Group Product Manager for Metrics, you will lead a team of product managers to grow and enhance Datadog’s Custom Metrics product. This product enables customers to send and monitor application- or infrastructure-specific metrics that go beyond default integrations. As one of the three pillars of observability, metrics provide critical insights into system performance and behavior, empowering teams to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize applications and infrastructure effectively.

In this role, you will define the vision and roadmap for Datadog’s Custom Metrics product, driving innovation to address evolving customer needs. You will develop and execute strategies to help customers manage metrics governance and compliance requirements through scalable features and value-aligned pricing. Additionally, you will lead efforts to deliver advanced query and analytics capabilities, enabling customers to extract meaningful insights from large metrics datasets.

What You’ll Do: 

Lead a team of product managers to drive the growth and success of Datadog’s Custom Metrics products. Develop and implement features that help customers manage metrics governance and compliance requirements at scale, with pricing that aligns to delivered value. Drive the creation of advanced query and analytics capabilities, enabling customers to gain actionable insights from large metrics datasets. Collaborate with Design to improve the in-app user experience, ensuring it aligns with customer needs and expectations. Partner with other Datadog product teams and customers to identify and prioritize opportunities for cross-product metrics integrations. Work closely with Marketing to educate Sales, Customer Success, Solutions, and Support teams on the benefits and capabilities of Datadog’s Custom Metrics product.

 

Who You Are: 

Experience: 7+ years in B2B SaaS Product Management, preferably with a developer-focused product, including 2+ years managing a team of product managers. Leadership: Demonstrated experience hiring, mentoring, and developing product managers or engineers. Customer Partnership: Expertise in working on large-scale products and collaborating effectively with enterprise customers. Technical Expertise: A strong technical background that fosters trust with highly technical customers, engineers, and product managers. Product Development: Skilled in working with designers and engineers to launch and iterate on user-facing SaaS features, particularly in areas like administration or configuration tools. Developer Focus: Experience as a software engineer or product manager for developer tools, with a deep understanding of the development process and what delights developers. Cross-Functional Leadership: Success in leading complex, cross-team initiatives and delivering impactful features that span multiple products.

Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience.
