If so, we invite you to explore this exciting opportunity at ABB.As a Group Public Reporting Specialist, you will play a crucial role in delivering a quality reporting product to all our external stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:•\tExpert in the use of advanced features in Office 365 products: You understand the structure of macros in MS-Excel and MS-Word as well as how styles are applied within Word in the preparation of large, structured, and brand compliant published documents.•\tPreparation and review of financial disclosures: Assist in preparing notes to the quarterly and annual financial statements and in some cases be the primary reviewer of the content, working with ABB personnel across different functions.•\tAccuracy Review: Performance of detailed checks to ensure the accuracy of externally reported information in press releases, presentations to analysts, and capital market day presentations.•\tFinancial Data Reviews: Conduct quarterly and ad-hoc reviews of reported internal financial data, monitor balance sheet and income statement amounts, and follow up on unusual items.•\tCertent Disclosure Management Tool business partner: Assist various functions in ABB in developing, creating and management their reports, providing design advice and ongoing support for the usage of the tool. Prior experience is beneficial and training will be provided.•\tInternal Control Activities: Collaborate with other ABB departments to perform internal control activities and review individual financial statement notes.
Qualifications for the roleTo be successful in this role, you should have:A degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.A recognized accounting designation is preferred but not required.At least 3 years of experience in a public accounting firm or a major multi-location international company.Strong interest in technology with proficiency in MS-Excel programming, including macros, and expert-level MS-Word functionality awareness. Experience with Certent Disclosure Management tool is an asset.Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, cultural sensitivity, proactive attitude, and the ability to work in a dynamic environment. A good understanding of accounting concepts with U.S. GAAP experience an asset.Fluency in English is required.Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate and direct activities of larger groups.Outgoing and engaging interpersonal style with the ability to establish rapport and effective working relationships at all organizational levels. This role is part a coordinated team and the working location is generally on site.
