Role Summary Lead the Charging and Adventure Products & Accessories team, overseeing and mentoring a group of purchasing managers to build and sustain a strategic, high-performance organization. Collaborate with engineering, finance and product teams to develop and manage a unified commodity strategy. Responsibilities · Develop and execute a strategic vision for sourcing battery cell active materials and raw materials needed to support cell engineering team. · Build strategic supplier relationships and negotiate key contracts · Lead all aspects of supplier negotiation, including part price, tooling expenditure, engineering & development expenses, and creation of long term agreements · Oversee RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing process and develop procurement strategies, policies, procedures, and systems · Serve as initial point of commercial escalation for commercial issues and claims; efficiently solve problems and make decisions for strategic execution and tactical issues within the relevant portfolio of projects and or processes · Engage and support other functional groups such as engineering, finance and strategy teams on scope development, product cost, manufacturing technology, delivery and quality · Provide in-depth analysis of total direct material spend to identify opportunities for improvements and strategic initiatives · Recommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to senior leadership · Drive success through empowering your team, leading by example and removing roadblocks · Motivate and collaborate within the team and across peer groups, and present concisely and persuasively to executive management Qualifications · BA / BS degree in business administration, finance, engineering or equivalent (required · 7+ years of experience in Purchasing/ Supply Chain management, including strategic sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management in battery, automotive, consumer electronics or related industry · 3+ years of battery material sourcing experience · Strong knowledge of pricing models and industry trends, industry regulations, and best practices · Demonstrated ability to identify process issues and drive improvements; good knowledge and experience with SAP or other ERPS systems · Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills · Highly organized and demonstrated ability as a strategic thinker. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, develop effective plans, coordinate change management, and see projects through to conclusion Preferred Qualifications: · Master’s degree/MBA with 10 years of relevant work experience · 3+ years leading a team of purchasing professionals 5+ years of battery material sourcing experience · Strong knowledge of battery cell technology, active materials, and main cost drivers · Experience working with cell material suppliers such as anode, cathode, separator, electrolyte, etc · Experience in building high performing strategic purchasing organizations and developing talent into leadership positions Pay Disclosure Salary Range for California Based Applicants: $137,800 - $172,200 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law) Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26.
