The role: 

As the Group Reward Director you will design a reward strategy with appropriate stakeholder input and implement compensation and benefit programs that will support the execution of JM’s strategy, and enable leaders to attract, retain and motivate employees. 

Your responsibilities: 

Define and implement Johnson Matthey’s reward strategy to attract, motivate, and retain employees, ensuring alignment with business strategy, culture, DI&B initiatives, and employee value proposition. 

Act as a trusted reward partner for the Global Leadership Team (GLT), including the CEO and CFO, as well as senior HR peers across the company. 

Guide the Remuneration Committee agenda, including paper preparation, presentations, and managing the triennial review of remuneration, engaging with the Board, GLT, and investors to align on policy changes. 

Manage the reward centre of excellence, covering compensation, benefits, wellbeing, recognition, and global mobility, while developing a succession plan for critical roles within the team. 

Collaborate with Global Business Services (GBS) to ensure seamless delivery of reward activities and manage the reward budget to ensure effective ROI. 

Ensure global compliance with reward structures, policies, and reporting requirements, while providing expert support for senior talent hiring and M&A-related reward matters. 

 

Requirements for the role: 

Experience spearheading a UK PLC remuneration committee and collaborating with executive teams. 

Proven ability to design and implement reward strategies linked to business goals, including wellbeing and recognition programmes. 

Strong leadership experience in managing teams and driving strategic change management initiatives. 

Significant expertise in the design and implementation of global compensation, incentives, and benefits programs. 

Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with diverse groups. 

Highly analytical, with strong numeracy and problem-solving skills to resolve complex issues and improve processes.
