The Sales Manager sets the tone for Sonesta’s Culture of Caring. We expect leaders to focus on creating amazing moments for guests and team members and dig deep to find ways to create success for their team.

The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively soliciting and becoming familiar with all accounts in their market segments. The Sales Manager is also responsible for prospecting and closing on assigned accounts to positively impact hotel revenues.

The ideal candidate has a passion for building relationships and consulting with clients to meet their needs. Sonesta managers are guest-focused (both internal and external) and achievement-oriented leaders.

Job Description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prospect, solicit, negotiate and book new and repeat business to ensure maximization of revenue to achieve and/or exceed budgeted revenue goals.Develop and execute action plans against existing and new target accountsConduct professional, thorough site inspections of the propertiesDevelop hotel level presentations, submit proposals and negotiation sales contractsRepresent the hotels at local trade shows, community events, industry meetings, sales trips, and blitzesPrepare and present status and period end reports, maintain well-organized documentation and coordination of client requirements with hotel operations staff as appropriateAttend weekly sales, revenue, and department meetingsDevelop a complete knowledge of company sales policies and SOP’sPerform other job-related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

Previous background from the hotel sales preferred.Ability to speak, read, and write fluent English; other languages beneficial.Professional verbal and written communication skills.Problem solving, reasoning, motivating, organizational and training abilities.Experience with Microsoft Office and Delphi FDC preferredAbility to travel including some overnight travel is required.Frequently standing up, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility.Carrying, lifting or pulling items weighing up to 25 pounds.Frequently handling objects and equipment.
