Gulf Coast Trades Center (GCTC) is a private, non-profit educational institution dedicated to improving the economic independence and social well-being of disadvantaged and adjudicated youth.  GCTC provides male youth ages 15-18 with a comprehensive program of education, counseling, job referrals, residential and community services.  This matrix of services is provided by our dedicated staff in a “no fail” atmosphere, which emphasized the worth of each individual.

What you will do: 

The Group Supervisor's work is performed under general supervision and requires knowledge of the policies, procedures, regulations, licensing, and federal, state and local law concerning students within the program and supervised staff. The Group Supervisor exercises considerable independent judgment and authority on a daily basis through direction and supervision of both students and staff in order to meet expectations of the services provided. The Group Supervisor exercises direct control and direction over subordinate staff such as Senior Coach Counselors, Coach Counselors, Night Coach Counselors, etc. as assigned in the safety, care and around-the-clock supervision of students in the program.

To be considered you should:   

Be empathetic, patient, and treat others with respect. 1 Year experience working with at-risk youth. Supervisory experience, preferred. Internal applicants must have completed Tech 22 and ROP Essential Subjects Training in Operations, Treatment and Human Resources. Outside applicants selected must complete this same training within 3 months of hire date. Ability to remain alert, observant, and physically able to respond appropriately to work situations or emergencies including, but not limit to, physical restrain of youth. Be able to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, physical, and TB test.
