Job Summary

Summary

Responsible for screening, group facilitation, and case management of CMHP students. In addition to the provision of group therapy, is responsible for coordinating group census and documentation.
Does this position require Patient Care?

Essential Functions

Provides group and/or individual therapy to clients as assigned. Interventions should be structured appropriately to the specific clientele being served.
-Consults with program staff in development of skills training groups.
-The therapist provides a non-judgmental environment in which clients can process and verbalize personal insight and awareness of their issues.
-When appropriate, provide consultation to clinical teams based on specific areas of expertise/training.
-Documents hospital group forms within established time parameters and in accordance with hospital procedures.
-Follows all established group therapy protocols.
-Maintains contact with other clinical staff and unit leadership through participation in rounds, staff meetings, multi-disciplinary meetings, treatment planning meetings, and other meetings as necessary.
-Alerts appropriate staff (e.g. Nurse Director, Medical and/or Clinical Director, Treatment Teams) of emergent clinical issues that occur during group sessions.
-Participates in group therapy training opportunities when required.


 

Qualifications

Education
Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study required or Master's Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Social Worker [Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker - LICSW - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Occupational Therapist [State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Counselor [Licensed Alcohol & Drug Counselor - LADC - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred Licensed Mental Health Counselor [LMHC - State License] - Generic - HR Only preferred

Experience
