We are recruiting a Group Worker to work within our HMP/YOI Isis service. Our ideal candidate will have the skills and experience to assess and engage with people who use our service, ensuring that they access the right intervention at the right time, in a way that best meets their needs. 

 

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A PRISON BASED ROLE AND IS SUBJECT TO PRISON SECURITY CLEARANCE.

 

Where: HMP/YOI Isis, Thamesmead

Hours: Full Time. 37.5 hrs per week

Salary: £27,449.52 - £31,529.41 dependent on experience (based on full time hours)

Allowances: £2163.27 Outer London Weighting (based on full time hours, paid pro rata)

Responsibilities

About the role:

You will work with service users within the prison to initiate recovery from drug and/or alcohol misuse, to enable them to build their own recovery capital.Promote the programme with service users and colleagues to generate good levels of participationPrepare and deliver group psycho-social interventions including Foundations of Rehabilitation programme, in addition to pod working tailored to the needs of the caseloadDevelop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

About you:

Experience of working in health and social careHave a strong understanding of substance misuse issues and RecoveryBe an excellent communicator, both verbal and written with good IT skillsAbility to deliver group and training interventions to Service UsersProactive and able to work on own initiative with excellent time management and prioritising skillsHave a good working knowledge of mental health interventions, services, and good practiceBe a supportive team player with strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work in partnership with a wide range of professionals, agencies, and internal/external stakeholdersUnderstand the importance of information governance processes and commit to follow and apply all necessary safeguardsSensitivity in working with complex and diverse needs.Ability to manage change successfully in a way that prioritises the needs of service users.Preferably a qualification in Psychology or similar with demonstratable evidence of delivering psychosocial interventions.
