GS2 Avionics Technician - Level IV

This role is part of the GS2PA business unit. To further Blue Origin's mission of having millions of people living and working in space, we are building the sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the Lunar Surface.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Assembles, disassembles and/or modifies Cables and Harnesses, removing, replacing or upgrading aerospace vehicle components to correct failures or implement changes.Deep understanding of harness components and hardware, connectors, backshells, cable and wire.Understanding and application of EMI/RFI and harness shielding.Inspects components and verifies repairs for flight worthiness requirements. Oversees training. Works under general direction.Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software issues in a manufacturing environment.Performs validation/verification testing of systems and componentsSupport integration and test activities including wiring, hardware installation, and test bench setupParticipate in design and system reviews to provide feedback on integration and testability throughout all phases of the project.Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions with real-time vehicle simulations.

Minimum Qualifications: 

experience developing special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting equipment5+ year’s experience performing harness fabrication, routing, integration and troubleshootingStrong electrical/mechanical design and integration skillsExperience integrating and testing Cable Harnesses on Space vehicle systemsProficient in the use of standard electronic lab tests and troubleshooting equipmentPreference for and ability to thrive as a member of a small, tightly integrated teamAbility to climb ladders/stairs and work in small, restricted areasPerform repetitive work including lifting of heavy items, >50lbsWork off-shift, extended hours overtime, and weekends if/when necessaryGood written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsMust be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supervising a team of spacecraft technicians7+ years of proven experienceExperience with the development and execution of a large-scale verification of avionics on autonomous spaceflight systemsExperience supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems
