The Parts Purchaser will purchase, store, and issue spare parts for motor vehicles or industrial equipment.
The parts purchaser position is a support services position. It generally functions under close supervisory direction or guidance of the GSE Manager and Station Manager.
Responsibilities
Completing and maintaining accurate records of material usage, and parts ordered.
Coordinates Warranty and Core returns with suppliers
Maintains and coordinates a stock of spare parts to ensure parts are available to meet customer needs.
Receives items, enters item data and cost into inventory system, stocks items, and tracks and analyzes the movement of inventory.
Performs cycle and physical inventory counts.
Purchases parts from outside vendors.
Purchases, stores, and issues spare parts for motor vehicles or industrial equipment. Reads shop manuals to ascertain type specification of part. Contacts vendors to order parts.
Compares invoices against requisitions to verify merchandise received.
Keeps records of parts received and issued, and inventories parts in storeroom periodically.
Loading and offloading supplies if needed at various locations.
Miscellaneous duties as assigned by Manager or Station Manager.
Qualifications
Possess a valid driver’s license
Possess strong computer skills
Must be familiar with Microsoft programs such as Word and Xcel
Be at least 18 years of age
Must be willing to work in inclement weather
Good communication skills
Must be a U.S. citizen or show proof of right to work in the U.S.
High School graduate or GED
Able to work independently
Ability to lift 60 pounds comfortably
Able to work in noisy environments
Able to fluently read, write, speak and understand English
Friendly and outgoing personality
Ability to work under stressful situations and tight time constraints
Self-motivated, team player
Required to work nights, weekends, holidays, and varying schedules
Successfully complete a background investigation, including FBI fingerprints, criminal history and pre-employment drug test
