Job Description
This GNCP FSV Engineer will support the development of the Orion Spacecraft. Orion is NASA's spacecraft that will take humans deep into space. No other spacecraft in development has the technology needed for the extremes of deep space, such as life support, navigation, communications, radiation shielding, and the world's largest heat shield that will protect astronauts and help return them safely home.
ResponsibilitiesSupport the development of the Orion Spacecraft by ensuring the functionality and reliability of its Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) and Propulsion systems.Perform software testing to verify the performance of flight software.Utilize Python, MATLAB, and Simulink for software test development and execution.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.Document and communicate test results and findings.Essential SkillsExperience with Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) and Propulsion systems.Proficiency in software testing methodologies.Knowledge of Python programming.Familiarity with MATLAB and Simulink.Additional Skills & QualificationsBackground in Computer Science.Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Work Environment
There is flexibility to work remote or on-site at the Houston or Denver facility. This role offers the opportunity to support history in the making by playing a key role in the development of the first deep space spacecraft. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $90.00/hr.
