Lockheed Martin is seeking an Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC) Engineer to develop Inertial target tracking/fusion algorithms to support target tracking in a highly dynamic environment.
What You Will Be Doing
The GNC Engineer will work with Software Engineering to ensure algorithms are implemented within the system's software suite correctly.
The GNC Engineer will develop and run the simulation and perform trade studies. The individual will work as part of a team in reviewing various scenarios, identifying improvements and determining best solutions. Simulation updates to improve analysis capability will also be involved.
The candidate GNC Engineer should have some experience with Inertial Target Tracking algorithms. The candidate should have familiarity with some, or all, of the following: linear algebra, probability and statistics, state dynamic equations, Kalman filter applications, kinematics and rotating coordinate systems.
This role will require onsite support full-time at Lockheed Martin’s Missiles and Fire Control headquarters in Grand Prairie, TX working a 4/10 Flex schedule.
This position requires a current DoD Secret clearance, therefore, U.S. citizenship is required.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience with Missile 6DOF simulation design and analysis and Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) design and simulation analysis.
Experience with development and analysis of guidance, navigation and/or autopilot algorithms.
Ability to design target tracking systems which generally include target state estimation and target/detection association.
Contribute to the definition of an operational flight program (OFP) with integrated high fidelity 6DOF simulations.
Support preflight system performance assessment and post flight verification analyses.
Demonstrate strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformation.
Demonstrate mastery of MATLAB and C/C++ programming.
Desired Skills:
Experience with Embedded Software
RF knowledge and experience is also a plus.
Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as KALMAN and Extended KALMAN filter (EKF).
Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) simulation experience is desired.
Flight software integration and verification experience is also a plus.
Experience with FORTRAN and Ada is a plus.
