Hand Grinding Operator (1st Shift) Chatsworth, CA Apply now ยป Date: Oct 16, 2024 Location: Chatsworth, CA, US, 91311 Company: Hubbell Incorporated Job Overview Hubbell | Armorcast Products is currently searching for a 1st Shift Grinder. The incumbent will be part of a growing and diverse team during a time of growth. The candidate will work in our grinding area de-flashing, grinding, drilling, and assembling polymer concrete boxes of various sizes. The starting base pay begins at $21.25 for a grinder position. In addition, as a newly hired employee, you will be eligible to receive a $1000 retention bonus after the 90th day of work with Hubbell. Benefits begin the first of the month following hire date. A Day In The Life + Deflash, grind, and drill using various tools including angle grinders and other hand grinding tools + Learn how to read and interpret drawings + Work in an efficient manner toward departmental goals. + Keep area clean, follow good housekeeping practices. + Follow Company safety and break policies, follow directions, and wear company issued Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Immediately report any unsafe activity or accident to area Supervisor. What will help you thrive in this role? Education and/or work experience requirements: + Heavy manufacturing or construction experience required + Experience in fiberglass, metal working, or concrete industries preferred + High school diploma preferred but not required. Required qualifications, knowledge, skills, ability: + Experience working with small grinders, hole saws, or sanders + Experience in grinding, deburring, metal working, and/ or concrete finishing + Use of tools such as hand held grinders, hole saws, sanders and other small tools + Respirator fit test required for the position. + Ability to follow instructions. + Ability to work in a group environment, and ask for help when needed. + Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices. + Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude.
