The Fleet Ballistic Missile Program is seeking a Handling & Transportation Associate Manager to join our mission at the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic (SWFLANT) in Kings Bay, GA!

The Handling & Transportation Associate Manager is responsible for hourly represented and salaried employees in the Handling and Transportation area. This position will supervise and hourly represented Ordnance Handlers who deliver the components at SWFLANT, including the Trident II D5 Missile.



In this role will offer you the following daily responsibilities:



• Safety, mission success for technical and schedule objectives.
• Leadership and team building, and developing and maintaining customer interfaces.
• Frequent communications with associate contractors and US Navy customer representatives.
• Manage activities in all areas of SWFLANT in support of the D5 program requirements.
• Additional responsibilities for the LM involvement in all SSGN activities.
• Furnish management systems to achieve effective Handling and Transportation operations required by special weapons ordnance publications and other DOD/Navy nuclear weapons requirements.


Please note that this position does NOT support teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in Kings Bay, GA, and will be expected to work in the office.
Basic Qualifications:
To be effective, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

• Successful and demonstrated prior/current supervision of personnel or leading teams of personnel.

• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers. Experience with inspections or audits.

• Experience with military procedural disciplines. Specialized weapons or special warfare preferred.

• You will need to be a US Citizen (no dual citizens), and be able to obtain and maintain a US DoD
TOP SECRET clearance, to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Please note:

No clearance is required to apply but an Interim clearance is needed prior to start.

• Obtain and maintain eligibility for access into the Navy’s Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).
Desired Skills:
To be effective, ideally, you should also have:

• Thorough knowledge of SWOP requirements for processing Trident II hardware.
• Thorough knowledge of equipment, training, and processing techniques used for the trident II hardware.
• Working knowledge of DHB and MTF requirements and techniques.
• 10 Years proven leadership experience with proven results, process monitor, ordnance handling team member, and nuclear safety representative.
• Knowledge of SWFLANT technical program requirements and good working relationships with FBM missile/re-entry body/support equipment technical community.
• Track record of sustained drive and energy to meet the rigors of special weapons processing work. Bias toward action/closure. Ability to use metrics and other means to critically assess organization, measure performance, and take corrective action.
• Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills, with an ability to deliver effective presentations.
• Effective interpersonal skills and team builder.
• Experience leading hourly represented personnel in a collective bargaining unit environment.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
