**Job Title: Full-Time Sexton (Handyman)** **Location: Downtown Houston, TX** **Pay Rate: $20.50 per hour** **Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM** Our client, located in Downtown Houston, is currently accepting applications for a Full-Time **Sexton (Handyman)** to support their facilities team. This position involves a variety of tasks, including maintaining the building and grounds, supporting event/room set-ups and take-downs, performing light repairs, and more. The Sexton will report directly to the Cathedral's Assistant Facilities Manager. **Key Responsibilities** + Maintain the buildings and grounds, including custodial duties. + Assist with event and room set-up and take-down. + Perform small repairs, light plumbing, and other maintenance tasks as needed. + Regularly patrol the property to ensure everything is in order. + Complete other duties as assigned. **Requirements** + High school diploma or equivalent. + Fluency in English (both spoken and written). + Proficiency with basic maintenance tools and equipment. + Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with team members, clergy, and management. + Friendly demeanor with the ability to interact positively with parishioners. + Quick response to alarms and emergencies. + Ability to work independently or as part of a team. + Ability to work without constant supervision and meet deadlines for assigned tasks. + Flexible schedule, including the ability to work weekends, evenings, and some overtime. + Capability to handle heavy lifting and moving of furniture. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience with electrical work. + Experience with plumbing. + Handyman experience. + Landscaping experience.
