Hangar & Aircraft Utility Associate
Overview We are seeking a full-time Hangar and Aircraft Utility Associate in our Salem, OR location. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the appearance of Garmin’s aircraft, hangar facilities, and support equipment and maintaining the aircraft fuel farm by performing required inspections and receipt of fuel. Essential Functions Provide aircraft ground support which includes fueling, towing and wing walking Maintain the appearance of Garmin aircraft, including washing, polishing and vacuuming interiors and perform aircraft refueling / defueling Stage aircraft efficiently in hangars using a variety of aircraft tugs Perform and document fuel farm inspections General upkeep of hangar facilities and grounds Perform preventative maintenance on support equipment to ensure a high state of readiness Track aviation fuel farm inventory and perform fuel receiving inspections Work a flexible schedule when needed Compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) requirements Perform and document Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan inspections and monthly safety inspections of the facility Perform minor facility repairs using standard hand tools Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent AND a minimum 10 years experience towing and fueling general aviation aircraft Aircraft fueling and towing experience Experience maintaining an aviation fuel farm Demonstrated strong and effective verbal and written communication skills Must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude and work well with others in a high-tempo environment Must possess the ability to routinely bend, twist, and lift up to 50 lbs. and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs. while using safe lifting techniques; pushing/pulling equipment up to 200 lbs.; standing and sitting for extended periods of time; kneeling, stooping, crouching, and crawling; climbing and utilizing ladders to connect cables and walking long distances throughout the facility; repetitive motion; tolerates products, materials and fumes associated with aircraft maintenance; tolerates working in confined spaces and heights above four feet Tolerates working in extreme temperatures and noisy environments Desired Qualifications Experience using Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word & Excel) Garmin International is an equal opportunity employer.
