We are seeking a control engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of control systems and algorithms for next-generation haptic actuators and experiences. **Description** Your role will encompass a diverse array of responsibilities, including: Control system design, analysis, and integration for haptic actuators Characterize and validate haptic module and system performance Perform system modeling and simulation Prototype bring-up, debug and characterization Define factory test requirements for haptic system Author engineering requirements and specifications Communicating cross-functionally and throughout management structure (written, verbal, and presentation) Perform failure mode analysis and problem solving International travel to support the product development IP generation **Minimum Qualifications** + BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience + Strong background in control engineering, dynamics, and signal processing + Excellent written and verbal communication skills + Team Oriented: must be able to thrive in collaborative cross-functional environments **Key Qualifications** **Preferred Qualifications** + Hands-on experience in control system design, analysis, implementation, and validation + Familiarity with modeling electro-mechanical system + Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ Experience with electromagnetic or piezoelectric actuators is a plus + Experience with high volume mass production is a plus + Knowledge of micro controller or embedded hardware/software is a plus + Knowledge of state-space techniques is a plus + Knowledge of nonlinear control technique is a plus + M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent with a specialization in control engineering **Education & Experience** **Additional Requirements** **Pay & Benefits** + At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role.
