We are seeking a control engineer to lead the design, development, and validation of control systems and algorithms for next-generation haptic actuators and experiences.
**Description**
Your role will encompass a diverse array of responsibilities, including: Control system design, analysis, and integration for haptic actuators Characterize and validate haptic module and system performance Perform system modeling and simulation Prototype bring-up, debug and characterization Define factory test requirements for haptic system Author engineering requirements and specifications Communicating cross-functionally and throughout management structure (written, verbal, and presentation) Perform failure mode analysis and problem solving International travel to support the product development IP generation
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ BS and a minimum of 10 years relevant industry experience
+ Strong background in control engineering, dynamics, and signal processing
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Team Oriented: must be able to thrive in collaborative cross-functional environments

**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Hands-on experience in control system design, analysis, implementation, and validation
+ Familiarity with modeling electro-mechanical system
+ Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink and C/C++ Experience with electromagnetic or piezoelectric actuators is a plus
+ Experience with high volume mass production is a plus
+ Knowledge of micro controller or embedded hardware/software is a plus
+ Knowledge of state-space techniques is a plus
+ Knowledge of nonlinear control technique is a plus
+ M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent with a specialization in control engineering

+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
