Hardware Design Engineer
Job Title: Hardware Design Engineer

Job Description

The Electrical Engineer designs advanced electronic circuits and assemblies for new products and concept designs. These products leverage IoT technology, with significant investment and stability in the industry due to the safety they provide. The Electrical Engineer will also advise other engineers creating electrical drawings and BOMs and lead engineering processes such as design reviews and validation testing.

ResponsibilitiesDesign, prototype, test, and troubleshoot advanced electronic circuits.Configure existing and source new modems, controllers, and network switches; create new setups for off-the-shelf networking devices and controllers.Independently design test plans and guide other Electrical Engineers to use lab equipment for testing devices.Ensure products meet regulatory standards and state or local specifications, directing product development and testing to pass regulatory tests.Create BOMs for electrical assemblies, including ERP entry, and verify the accuracy of BOMs created by other engineers.Recommend cost reduction opportunities through part design and process improvements, and direct other engineers on cost reduction tasks.Review and approve electrical drawings, and communicate concepts and changes to other engineers.Respond to electrical and electronic communications with various departments, including Product Management, Procurement, Marketing, Quality, Manufacturing, Production, and Sales Management.Determine product design specifications from marketing requests and requirements.Define requirements for new and alternate components, and review and approve components researched by other engineers.Participate in supplier dialog, provide technical information and support to purchasing, and provide technical input for qualifying new suppliers.Perform cost analysis of current and proposed future designs.Lead Design Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (DFMEA) and Design Validation Plan and Report (DVP&R).Lead Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Assembly (DFA) for standardized components and processes.Essential SkillsBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.5+ years of design and product development experience with recent IoT products.Experience in IoT, hardware design, and electrical engineering.Proficiency with firmware and Altium.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with IoT connected products.Ability to independently create new setups for networking devices and controllers.Proficiency in regulatory standards and state or local specifications.
Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $130000.00
