Hardware Engineer

Purpose of Position

 

Responsible for electronics hardware verification. Works as part of a team in a collaborative environment and under the direction of electronics designers to test electronic hardware for UV products. These products disinfect water using ultraviolet light.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Test and debug electronic assemblies at board level using lab equipment (AC, DC power sources, oscilloscope, DMM) Perform troubleshooting of electronic assemblies, providing input to failure analysis Assist with design, construction and deployment of test fixtures Use programming tools to program and assist with debugging micro-controller devices Conduct and support thermal testing of electronic assemblies Write test plans and test reports

 

Background and Skills

 

Electronics technician or equivalent education Experienced in prototyping and testing of electronic board assemblies. Good soldering skills. Advanced PCB- and system-level troubleshooting experience Good working knowledge about electronics manufacturing and DFM best practices Expert user of high-speed oscilloscopes, signal generators, desktop power supplies, logic analyzers, spectrum and network analyzers Proficient with personal computer (PC) applications including MS office Effective written and verbal communications skills Ability to work collaboratively in small teams Attention to detail and commitment to quality Able to work collaboratively with a team where striving to continuously find a better way of doing things is expected and valued.
