Hardware Engineer
Actalent
Mission: Design and analyze hardware and firmware for new and existing products. May involve project management and working with cross-functional teams. Conduct basic research for feasibility studies and new concepts. Requires initiative, originality, and ingenuity.
Essential Duties:
+ Develop hardware and firmware specifications.
+ Participate in design teams for new products.
+ Create electrical designs based on product requirements.
+ Design some software and firmware.
+ Ensure designs meet safety and compliance standards.
+ Identify interactions with other products and standardize where needed.
+ Specify components for designs.
+ Participate in design reviews and verification activities.
+ Meet design deadlines.
+ Track project costs, time, and changes.
+ Report design status to management.
+ Document designs and tests.
Job Requirements:
Education:
+ Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
Experience:
+ Minimum 1 year of design experience and project management skills.
Skills:
+ Board-level design with 16/32 bit processors.
+ Circuit board design using Altium.
+ Embedded applications using C and Assembly.
+ Familiar with development tools (compiler, linker, emulator, debugger).
+ Knowledge of compliance testing and approvals (UL, CSA, IEC, CE).
Desired Skills/Experience:
+ Manufacturing/production processes.
+ Experience with Intel 80196 processor, FLASH memory, FPGA design, motion/motor control, and robotics.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $55.00
