Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Remote Consultant)
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team as a full-time consultant on a 6- to 12-month project. This remote position is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned professional to serve as the Lead Engineer responsible for integrating cellular and telephony capabilities into a product in the medical products industry. You will investigate the current non-cellular design and drive the transformation of the product to enable reliable emergency communications. You will lead all aspects of electrical and embedded design—from gathering requirements and creating specifications to designing, testing, and verifying the final solution. You will have support from a dedicated mechanical design team, and you will own the technical direction and execution of all electrical engineering tasks.
Responsibilities
+ Investigate the current product, which lacks cellular and telephony capabilities, and define strategies for integrating these features to enhance its emergency call functionality in the medical arena.
+ Lead the requirements gathering process and develop detailed technical specifications for electrical hardware and embedded systems.
+ Oversee the complete design and development lifecycle, including prototyping, testing, and verification of the new cellular and telephony features.
+ Ensure the redesigned product meets all relevant regulatory standards and obtains necessary certifications for the European market, particularly as it relates to medical devices.
+ Act as the Lead Engineer on the project, coordinating with a mechanical design team and other cross-functional groups to ensure seamless integration of new capabilities.
+ Stay current with advancements in cellular communications, RF engineering, embedded systems, and telephony protocols to apply best practices and innovative solutions.
+ Manage the project remotely, ensuring effective communication, progress tracking, and collaboration with stakeholders.

Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
+ Proven experience in electrical hardware and embedded software design
+ Ability to independently drive a project while effectively collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
Work Environment
This is a remote consulting position. You will manage the project remotely, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with stakeholders. You will have support from a dedicated mechanical design team and will own the technical direction and execution of all electrical engineering tasks. The role demands effective communication, progress tracking, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the seamless integration of new capabilities.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $100.00/hr.
