Hardware EngineerJob Description

Design the hardware for next generation embedded control systems for water purification in residential, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical processing. The goal is to create a uniform flexible platform that can be used across a wider range of future control systems.

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the electrical design of analog and digital circuits for microcontroller-based hardware through all phases of the PDLC from requirements analysis and concept development to hardware qualification.Determine components required to meet performance and functional requirements.Create schematic and PCB layout.Contribute to the creation of supporting design documentation.Confirm availability and facilitate acquisition of new components for builds.Generate and analyze test data and reports to determine if design meets performance and functional requirements.Participate in design reviews.Work both independently and as part of a team.Essential SkillsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.At least 5 years of hands-on experience in new product development.Experience with microcontroller-based hardware design and testing.Experience with design calculations, simulation, component selection.Experience with analog and digital circuitry/electronics.Hands-on experience in test equipment such as power meters, oscilloscopes, signal generators.Experience with schematic and PCB design tools.Experience with Ansys simulation.Familiarity with EMI/EMC protection concepts, environmental standards, and worst-case circuitry analysis.Ability to manage and solve complex problems with minimal direction.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with Ansys simulation for EMI/EMC and environmental analysis.Work Environment

Hybrid work environment in Montreal, QC for 3 days in office. You will use a client laptop and be employed as a consultant with enhanced benefits

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
