GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Designs, develops, integrates and tests hardware and electronic components to be applied to and integrated with engineering, scientific and requirements. Apply appropriate standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support hardware systems from the board level to system level. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: + Lead and perform detailed design of test control apparatus and equipment + Develop schematics and drawings to support fabrication with CAD tools (schematic capture, timing simulation, and place and route tools) + Lead research, design, develop and test of electronic components, products and systems + Qualify and test developed hardware, test plans and procedures, and test systems + Consult with software engineers for hardware and software integration + Ensure all designs are completed on schedule, are under budget, and sustain manufacturing reliability + Perform digital circuit design utilizing programmable logic (FPGAs, CPLDs). + Must be at assigned worksite during assigned hours 100% of time; less PTO, FML/STD/LTD Other Job Functions + Interface with customers on program issues + Lead design reviews for both internal and external customers + Assist in training and mentoring new engineers + Assist in the technical bid/proposal process + Other duties may be assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None Required Experience: KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors Ability to interact appropriately with the public when necessary Ability to adhere to workplace rules Ability to read, write and develop intelligible drawings, instructions and procedures Ability to collaborate and work with a multi-functional team in a fast paced environment EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or related technical field A minimum of 10 years of experience Intermediate MS Office experience Experience with hardware design and development of embedded microprocessor systems Experience with FPGA integration into digital circuit card designs to ensure electrical integrity in embedded applications Working knowledge of military standards Working knowledge of digital and analog RF design principles and practices WORK ENVIRONMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office and production environment Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones) Ability to lift up to 25 pounds Ability to travel up to 10%, foreign and/or domestic THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE INTENDED TO DESCRIBE THE GENERAL NATURE AND LEVEL OF WORK BEING PERFORMED BY INDIVIDUALS ASSIGNED TO THIS CLASSIFICATION.
