**Description**
This individual contributor Lab Manager role will lead all operational aspects of several hardware engineering labs—working closely with all users to maintain safe, clean, organized, and operationally efficient lab spaces. This role will require significant collaboration with peer lab managers, users, and leaders to drive consistent and complimentary lab capabilities, processes, and culture across multiple markets. You will support both day-to-day operations within the labs and long-term capability and capacity planning in a brand new, state of the art space. Key areas of focus within this role are: Engagement: Define, document, communicate and enforce lab policies and guidelines. Drive timely lab-related communication to all users. Safety: Work with the Environmental Health and Safety team to ensure compliance and adherence to state, local and Apple protocols. Facility: Maintain and control access to lab spaces; own lab scheduling, space allocation, security compliance, vendor escort, facilities activities, and general operations. Maintenance: Develop strategic preventative maintenance and repair strategies to ensure calibration, verification, and reporting to minimize equipment downtime. Inventory Management: Lead procurement, inventory and disposition of all laboratory equipment, tools and consumable parts. Documentation: Build and maintain equipment SOPs, and manage documentation repository of all equipment resources. Technology: Mac and PC hardware and software setup and troubleshooting as related to lab equipment and testing. < 10% travel may be required
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ 2+ years previous Lab Management or related project management experience required
+ Experience with space layout, including installation of precision prototyping, fabrication and/or metrology equipment, industrial facility infrastructure, and pneumatics
+ Experience with industrial health and safety risk assessments and safety protocol enforcement
+ Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills
+ Excellent customer focus with the ability and desire to build effective relationships, anticipate emerging challenges, and deliver unique solutions.

+ Experience directly leading or mentoring others, setting clear objectives, planning and prioritizing deliverables which align with organizational goals. You can establish clear responsibilities and processes for monitoring work and measuring results.
+ Hands on experience operating prototyping and/or mechanical test equipment, sensors and metrology (ie: microscopes, thermocouples, small industrial robots/actuators, etc.)
+ Hands on experience with MacOS endpoint configuration and basic electrical test equipment (power supplies, multimeters, oscilloscopes, DAQs, function generators, etc.)
+ Project or program management experience, driving cross-functional teams towards a common goal and timeline. You are able to relate with technical partners, and balance the needs of multiple stakeholders concurrently.
+ Ability to balance competing priorities in a demanding environment while maintaining a deep level of composure. You show expertise in analyzing complex decisions and extracting key factors to drive informed, strategic decisions.
+ College degree or itʼs equivalent in a technical or vocational training

+ At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $101,700 and $211,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
