Hardware Test Engineer

Job Summary
• This role is responsible for designing HW engineering solutions by driving the implementation of comprehensive test plans. The role leverages developed subject matter knowledge and provides valuable guidance on crafting and operating test tooling, fixtures, automation, and apparatuses. The role works as a part of cross-functional project teams, and contributes to the development and execution of products with moderate complexity, showcasing innovative thinking and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
• Designs engineering solutions to test and evaluate systems, equipment, and devices based on established engineering principles and in accordance with provided specifications and requirements.
• Develops and implements HW test plans, schedules, and requirements for all portions of new and existing designs.
• Designs and provides guidance to outsourced and in- house testing resources building and operating test tooling, fixtures, scripts, automation, and apparatuses.
• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced testing and development partners regarding HW testing status, project progress, test results, and issue resolution.
• Works as part of the project team of other HW test engineers and internal and outsourced testing partners to develop and executes reliable, cost effective and high quality test solutions for moderately-complex products.
• Represents the HW test engineering team for all phases of larger and more- complex development projects.
• Solves difficult and complex problems with fresh perspective, demonstrating good judgment in selecting creative solutions and managing testing projects independently.
• Develops recommendations on changes and design enhancements to HW testing procedures to improve reliability, safety of outputs.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less- experienced staff members to set an example of test engineering design and development innovation and excellence.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in debug and validation, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.
