Harm Reduction Coordinator

The Harm Reduction Coordinator coordinates the operation of Evergreen Health’s Drop-In Services for people who use drugs or have a history of drug use. Our drop-in services include: non-judgmental space, shower, laundry, food and beverage, and individual and group support. The Harm Reduction Coordinator collaborates closely with other Harm Reduction Center (HRC) and Center for Behavioral Health (CBH) staff and peers to ensure quality patient care and safety. This role provides direct service administrative tasks to ensure program sustainability and successful outcomes, and oversight of the Drop-In Services space. As part of the essential functions of this role, the Harm Reduction Coordinator: + Acts as a leader for staff, patients, and the drop in space taking ownership over daily operations + Coordinates and shares daily schedule of staffing and break coverage for Drop-In Services + Ensures smooth delivery of individual and group support in Drop-In Services space, including being proficient in facilitating basic group activities, and providing supportive conversations + Collaborates closely with Director of Harm Reduction Center, Director of Harm Reduction Services, AVP of Harm Reduction and staff responsible for HRC services and outreach + Assists in developing and implementing systems to track and report outcomes for Drop-In Services + Works closely with Program Assistant and Director of Harm Reduction Center to ensure adequate drop in space supplies are on hand + Provides appropriate and culturally competent coaching and support for peer workers in the Drop-In Services space + Maintains competency in education pertaining to people who use drugs, including: overdose prevention (Narcan training), conversations about safer use, disease prevention and available resources at Evergreen and in the community + Takes responsibility for systems that ensure safe and effective use of shower, restroom, laundry and other spaces + Approaches patients in order to promote services and explore their individualized needs + Assists in service promotion which includes strong include written and verbal communication + Leads recruitment of patients to participate in services such as groups + May serve as member of Evergreen’s Emergency Response Team for overdose, medical and behavioral health emergencies and is comfortable intervening in challenging situations with patients Qualified candidate has a Master’s Degree in social work or related field OR Bachelor’s or Associate degree with relevant work experience; has proficient computer, communication, organization, customer service, and problem-solving skills; candidate will demonstrate an awareness of and sensitivity to the issues that underserved populations, people living with HIV and people who use drugs face, including health disparities that affect people of color at a disproportionate rate Job type: Full time; schedule will be 8:00am to 4:00pm or 8:30am to 4:30pm Required education/experience: Master’s degree in social work or a related field, OR Bachelor’s or Associate degree with relevant work experience What Evergreen Health Offers You: + Multiple comprehensive medical health insurance plans for you to choose from + Dental and Vision coverage at no cost to you + Paid Time Off package that equals 4 weeks of time in your first year + 403b with a generous company match + Paid parking or monthly metro pass + Professional development opportunities + Paid lunch breaks
