KBR is looking for a Harness Assembly Technician to fabricate, assemble, and test flight and ground support equipment harnessing for numerous applications based on written documentation and workmanship standards at Goddard SFC in Greenbelt, MD.
The Harness Assembly Technician will use schematic drawings, wire lists, and written procedures to build cable assemblies from individual parts and components and perform verification testing of completed assemblies.
The primary responsibility will be Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and spacecraft flight harness assembly, including reading and understanding harness schematics, executing operational steps of a Work Order Traveler, and determining routing based on drawing, wiring mock-up, or chassis/rack layout.

Responsibilities:
Support spacecraft integration and test efforts in an ESD and clean room environmentComponent integrations, testing, and flight close-outsSupport GSE chassis/rack assembly and testingMiscellaneous harness activities e.g., bonding, GSE assembly support, flight hardware cleanliness, magnetic cleanliness, etc.***Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident ***
Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
High School Degree or equivalent10 years of experience in harness fabrication, testing, installation, mechanical assembly, or flight close-outsKnowledge of conventional test equipment (digital multi-meters)Ability to solve typical harness assembly problems with minimal supervision, and complete tasks to the quality standard requiredFamiliarity with the use of wiring toolsAbility to work with minimal supervisionKnowledge of harness quality and verification proceduresPreferred Experience & Skills:
Previous work in an AS9100-compliant environment
IPC J-STD-001 and/or NASA 8739.4 Crimp, Cable, Harnessing certification
Ability to work on and around critical hardware and systems such as spacecraft, aircraft, etc.
Experience with electronic drawing configuration management tools
Basic Compensation:
$81,700.00 - $122,600.00
The offered rate will be based on contract affordability and the selected candidate's working location, knowledge, skills, and/or experience and in consideration of internal parity.
Additional Compensation:
KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
