Bob Evans Farms products are distributed nationally in retailers throughout North America. Responsibilities This position is responsible for managing all aspects of the Harvest Floor Area and processes. Manages and leads harvest floor employees. Monitors and makes sure the company is in compliance with all animal welfare procedures and processes. Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include staffing and training of harvest employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ability to teach and coach employees on proper butcher techniques. Perform three or more minor butcher positions and three or more major butcher positions. Function with minimal assistance and supervision. Verifies HACCP and humane slaughter reports. Maintains cleanliness and quality of the product and department. Keeps records of department activities and production. Qualifications Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree; or two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Three to five years of previous experience in a harvest facility in a supervisory role Certified in HACCP and Humane Slaughter Knowledge Understands ordering of supplies based on future needs Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, procedure manuals, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, and the general public Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to calculate yields, productivity and apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Basic computer skills, Word and Excel; Lotus
