The Haul Driver will utilize a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to operate a commercial vehicle to deliver vehicles and products in-state or out-of-state. The role will load and secure loads for delivery and pickup at manufacturing facilities, and retail and distribution centers. The Short Haul Driver will work with the dispatch team to complete assignments.
As a Haul Driver, you will:
Operate a commercial vehicle in compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) rulesTransport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers across the countryLoad and secure products and vehicles for safe transportInspect vehicles for mechanical and safety issues and check fluids dailyPlan routes and meet delivery schedulesDocument and log all work and rest periods and miles spent driving using an electronic logging device (ELD) or on a paper log when necessaryRetain fuel, toll, and hotel log and receiptsComply with all DOT rules and regulationsManeuver trucks into load or unload positionsReport defects, accidents or violations immediatelyTo be considered as a Haul Driver, you will need:
High School diploma or equivalentNo experience requiredExcellent motor vehicle driving recordAbility to pass a DOT physical, background check and drug screenStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to travel for long periods of time, utilizing sleeper cab or hotelsKnowledge of DOT rules and regulations including hours of service (HOS) limitationsA successful candidate may also have:
Hazardous Materials Endorsement (HME) on Commercial Driver’s LicenseAbility to operate a manual transmission vehicleAbility to pass an air brake testAbility to work overtime as needed including weekends
