Your role:
As a Hazard Communication Expert (all genders) at Merck Life Science KGaA, Darmstadt, you will be responsible to classify Merck LS products in accordance with national and international regulations, including GHS, CLP, OSHA, and others. You will create and maintain product data sets and author and revise Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for LS products using the SAP EH&S module.
Your expertise in linking chemical knowledge with regulatory aspects is crucial to ensure data accuracy and quality throughout our processes. You are responsible for technical and strategic activities including validation and improvement of existing processes.
In addition to supporting customer inquiries, you will develop internal documents and conduct training sessions. You will also review new and updated regulatory requirements pertaining to chemical regulations.
You will manage requirements for the SAP EH&S module, collaborate closely with neighbor teams, participate in global regulatory affairs projects and stay updated on the latest developments within the organization.
Who you are:
Graduate degree (MSc, PhD) in natural sciences (preferably chemistry)2+ years of substantial experience in chemical regulations and experience in authoring SDSProfound knowledge of chemistry, including an understanding of physical-chemical properties and their relationship to chemical hazardsStrong analytical and result-driven mindset, focused on optimizing processes and enhancing data qualityAbility to work independently and manage complex tasks in dynamic environmentsExcellent command of English, additional language beneficialExceptional interpersonal and intercultural skills, coupled with strong communication competenceExtensive experience using SAP EH&S moduleVery good digital skills (Office 365, programming languages desirable); ideally 2+ years IT development/support experience
