Job SummaryLangan is seeking Hazardous Building Materials Professionals to join its collaborative team in New Haven, CT or Boston, MA. This individual will serve a key function in performing hazardous building materials surveys and abatement monitoring, including but not limited to asbestos, lead, PCBs, universal wastes, and mold. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help first-hand with building a rapidly growing practice group.
Job Responsibilities Perform surveys and project monitoring of environmental and building abatement projects relating to asbestos, lead-based paint, PCBs, and other hazardous building materials; Develop scopes of work and prepare proposals for inspections, monitoring, and IAQ assignments; Coordinate with laboratories, subcontractors, project teams; Prepare inspection/monitoring/IAQ reports; Attend client/construction team meetings as needed; and Perform other duties as requested. Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in a Geology or a Science-related field; 0-3 years of hazardous building materials survey and abatement/remediation monitoring experience preferred; Thorough understanding of state-specific and federal asbestos, lead, and PCB regulations and guidelines, including: design protocols, survey requirements, abatement monitoring requirements and reporting preferred; Ability and desire to obtain Licenses/Certifications: State of CT DPH Asbestos Inspector and Project Monitor State of CT DPH Licensed Lead Inspector Related licenses in other states (MA, NY, RI, etc) and additional CT licenses (Lead Risk Assessor, Asbestos Designer) are considered a plus; Ability to read and understand project specifications, drawings and plans, and hazardous materials survey reports; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing.Langan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives.
