Summary:
The Hazardous Waste Disposal Coordinator will be responsible for the handling, consolidating and organizing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by the Processing Facilities. The successful candidate must display a focus on safety and efficiency in a team environment while performing moderately labor intensive and repetitious tasks.
Key Accountabilities
Provide a visual analysis of different chemicals (label identification and SDS review)
Ensures incoming waste streams are received and processed in our tracking system in a timely manner
Responsible for reporting non-conformance to Supervisor
Consolidating waste streams
Organizing specific waste streams and preparing for transport to final disposal destinations
Maintains warehouse housekeeping standards
Provides technical support for operations on how and where to process waste streams
Provides insight into and interpretation of analytical results
Familiar with internal and external industry specifications that support the business
Comply with Corporate & regulatory policies and procedures
Understands and uses the Workplace Hazardous Material Information System
Other duties as assigned
Education, Experience & Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Chemistry or a related field, and/or relevant experience, is an asset
Must be able to wear a respirator.
Experience operating a forklift is an asset
Proficient with MS Office programs, such as Excel, Word, and Outlook
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as proficiency in mathematics
Ability to adjust to rapidly shifting priorities and ability to work unsupervised
Adaptive to constant changes in business environment and demands
Detail oriented with excellent organizational, problem solving, and time management skills
