The technician will be responsible for the safe handling, identification, packaging, tracking, and disposal of hazardous waste materials and will ensure compliance with all environmental regulations by properly segregating, labeling, and preparing waste for transport to suitable treatment or disposal facilities. The ideal EMI Services Hazardous Waste Technician will adhere to the NBVC Environmental Policy and demonstrate a commitment to environmental stewardship to minimize the impact of operations on the surrounding ecosystem.
Salary$29.93/hr. plus $4.57 fringe benefits used towards insurance and 401k!

Key Responsibilities Coordinate hazardous waste pickups with customers involves communicating with customers to arrange pickup times, coordinating logistics with waste management providers, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements Label and mark incoming hazardous waste containers proper labeling includes details such as contents, date received, and any special handling instructions Assist in Oil Water Separators (OWS) cleanouts involves working alongside the team to remove accumulated sediment, debris, and other contaminants from OWS units Conduct hazardous material field samples may involve collecting samples of water, soil, or other environmental media Keep work and training records must be kept up to date to ensure regulatory compliance and to support continuous improvement Perform minor mechanical maintenance may include inspecting equipment for signs of wear or damage, performing lubrication and adjustments, and troubleshooting minor issues. Performs additional duties as assignedEssential Skills Ability to learn and adhere to the NBVC Environmental Policy Plan Adaptable and flexible in work situations PRACTICES WORKPLACE SAFETY in the use of tools, equipment, and supplies Including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Proficiency in English is required to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and vendors as part of the core responsibilities of this position
