Hazmat Specialist II
ManTech is seeking a skilled, professional and service-oriented **Hazmat Specialist II** to join our vehicle sustainment team. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Agriculture Cleaning and African Swine Fever Sanitization (ACAS) program. **Responsibilities include but are not limited to:** + HAZMAT Specialist II assists senior positions and performs duties under their oversight, planning, directing, and coordinating storage and distribution activities per organizational policies and government regulations. + They ensure personnel are certified and trained according to OSHA, EPA, U.S. Army Public Health Command, and local regulations. + Skilled in cross-functional teamwork, they obtain necessary licenses, permits, and authorizations for waste management in compliance with host nation laws. + The specialist supports ACC and RSTs in maintaining compliance with laws and regulations for handling, storage, spill cleanup, and disposal of regulated wastes and HAZMAT. + They assist in creating and maintaining Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) as per ANSI Z400.1 standards. + They oversee the handling, containerization, storage, and intra-station transportation of hazardous and non-hazardous waste from ACAS operations and other CSR requirements. + They prepare regulated waste for disposal, including marking, labeling, and maintaining an internal tracking system + Alongside Trainers and Maintenance Specialists, they ensure RST personnel are certified and trained according to applicable regulations. + They support accounting for expenses related to regulated waste management, including noncompliance penalties and other costs. + They proactively support the ACAS Safety Plan. + The HAZMAT Specialist II reports to the Environmental Science and Protection Manager III for policy and regulatory compliance and to the Logistics Manager for ACC Environmental Services/HAZMAT capabilities. + They work closely with the Environmental Science and Protection Technician II during RST execution of CSRs. **Required Qualifications** **:** + BA/BS degree(Permitted experience exchange: High School and 6 years of additional experience or Associate's Degree and 4 years of additional experience may be exchanged in lieu of a required Bachelor's degree + 3 years of experience (Permitted education exchange: A candidate holding a relevant Master’s degree may be granted 2 years’ experience credit for that extra education. A candidate holding a relevant PhD degree may be granted 4 years’ experience credit for that extra education.) + Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. + All Team ManTech employees shall be fluent in English (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) in accordance with ACAS TOR H.30 (FLUENCY IN ENGLISH). + Must possess a Valid Driver’s License **Desired Qualifications:** + Must have professional communication skills in both verbal and written dialog while conducting daily business with vendors and other organizations. + Must be able to work in a team environment with independent assignments. + Proficient in MS Office, MS Outlook, Excel and common software application and other office equipment. + Knowledge of shipping forms. **Clearance Requirements:** + Must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. **Physical Requirements:** + Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel. + Must be able to push, pull, and reach. + Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard for long periods of time.
