Dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of North Carolina’s transportation systems, OSI works on strategic planning, corridor development, and project management to support the state’s growth and connectivity. Interns within OSI have the unique opportunity to contribute to these initiatives, gaining invaluable insight into the transportation industry while honing professional and technical skills. The Office of Strategic Initiatives – Division 10 is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated intern to assist with corridor development projects. This role is an excellent opportunity for students from any academic background to gain hands-on experience in data management, project coordination, and professional communication in a collaborative team environment. The intern will work closely with experienced engineers and staff on various aspects of corridor development, providing valuable exposure to facility review processes, data analysis, and project planning. Key Responsibilities + Data Collection & Information Management: + Gather, review, and organize relevant data to support corridor development initiatives. + Ensure data accuracy and compile insights into actionable reports. + Use Excel for data tracking and analysis. + Facility Review & Development: + Assist in evaluating facilities within corridor areas to ensure they meet development requirements. + Document findings and contribute to recommendations for facility improvements. + Project & Time Management: + Support the team in managing timelines for ongoing corridor development projects. + Develop personal time management skills to meet deadlines effectively. + Presentation Planning & Delivery: + Prepare professional presentations using PowerPoint to communicate project updates and findings. + Assist in organizing materials for internal meetings and stakeholder discussions. + Collaboration & Professional Development: + Engage in daily interactions with staff to understand work habits and contribute to team culture. + Participate in weekly meetings to track progress, receive feedback, and refine project outcomes.
