A DRAM and Emerging Memory Quality and Reliability Assurance (DEMQRA) Return Material Authorization (RMA) Engineer is responsible for leading, developing, and coordinating the formal Failure Analysis of customer-returned product. As an RMA Quality Engineer you will be responsible for driving the failure analysis on our testers and provide guidance and work with our PFA lab as the part moves from Electrical Failure Analysis and into Physical Failure Analysis. Duties also include providing technical reports that summarize analysis of electrical and physical characterization that identifying root cause, provide containment and process improvement plans. Work with various engineering and manufacturing teams to evaluate and implement corrective actions for the identified issues. Communicate Analysis results to management, engineering teams, and customers to drive continuous improvement activities. Maintain an in-depth knowledge of HBM and sometimes GDDR technology, testing methodology, assembly technology and fabrication process.
Job Responsibilities
Perform and manage electrical characterization testing activities on High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) products return to Micron to identify root cause.
Main focus will be on HBM but will also need to provide ad hoc support for GDDR parts.
Work closely with HBM fabrication, assembly, product, and test engineering teams to develop test coverage and process optimization for identified customer defects.
Provide technical analysis reports to Micron’s key customers identifying specific analysis observations, test coverage and process improvements.
Develop and optimize HBM RMA testing strategy to improve timeliness and effectiveness of characterization process.
Collaborate with external facing engineering teams to understand assigned customer issues as it relates to Micron’s high value products.
Qualifications and Skills:
Strong background in CMOS circuits, circuit analysis, and electrical characterization techniques.
Good fundamental understanding of solid-state device physics, semiconductor processing and characterization techniques
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and in a multi-discipline team environment.

Strong technical core competence and excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Experience with bench EFA (Electrical Fail Analysis) or ATE testing would be a plus.
Ability to work independently, set high-level goals then prioritize tasks to drive projects to completion.
Having an innovative approach that is open to improving upon established processes or products.
Programming capability in Python, Perl, or other language on Unix/Linux particularly when looking at production data and analysis.
Industry experience in characterizing memory or CMOS products using electrical characterization techniques.
Education and Experience:
BS/MS Electrical or Computer Engineering or 3+ years of hands-on test engineering experience.
