Instructors are needed to teach classes depending upon need and available funding.
Applications are accepted on a continual basis (unless otherwise indicated) and will be maintained in pool for two years. After two years, candidates will be notified to re-submit materials for continued consideration.
The department or program search committees or hiring authority will review and evaluate the submitted application materials. Applicants will be notified if their application is being retained in the non-tenure track faculty hiring pool.
Appointments are on a part-time basis and vary in duration, a couple weeks, a semester or an academic year, depending on the specific needs of the department/program. Salary is dependent on number of courses taught and duration.

Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills Academic/professional experience. Demonstrated experience teaching interdisciplinary courses Demonstrated knowledge of college student development Demonstrated commitment to student, faculty, and staff diversity. The Successful Candidate Will Possess effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Contribute positively to the academic success of the students and the mission of Montana State University. Highlights for the Department of Human Development and Community Health include:
Undergraduate programs incorporate hands-on learning in the form of internships with community partners, practicum in local classrooms and/or research experiences with faculty that work in collaboration with local communities. Faculty foster community partnerships like the Kinship Navigator Program (with MT DPHHS) and Messengers for Health (in partnership with the Crow People) to improve health outcomes of local communities. The FCS Master’s Program as well as the Indigenous Rural Health PhD Program can be completed entirely online to facilitate advanced degree attainment for working professionals. The College The College of Education, Health and Human Development (EHHD), the third largest college at Montana State University, serves over 2000 students and employs over 50 full time tenure track faculty. EHHD consists of four academic units: Counseling; Education; Food Systems, Nutrition & Kinesiology; and Human Development & Community Health.
The College of Education, Health and Human Development is home to a wide variety of programs that fulfill Montana’s land grant mission of providing services to the people of Montana and beyond.
We train teachers for elementary and secondary classrooms. We support grandparents who are raising their grandchildren. We help soldiers and other professionals become teachers. We partner with leaders on Native American reservations to develop ways to lead healthy lifestyles and improve education for children and adults. We educate families on how to make healthy nutrition and physical activities choices.
