JOB SUMMARY:

  

The Head Coach will oversee, continually develop and support the Coach Team at Woodward PA. Supervise all aspects of coaching, including daily routine, park & trail cleanliness, behavioral management and instruction group cohesiveness all while developing a fun, interactive environment for campers.  The Head Coach will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day instruction and clinic experience. This includes routine check-ins with coaches and campers. The Head Coach will aid with parent-camper communications as needed. The Head Coach is responsible for daily park & trails safety along with daily instruction group checks as assigned

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Support Coaches in all aspects related to instruction, clinics, events, and park supervision.   Supervise 12-45 Coaches, assist in scheduling, directing, and reviewing performance with Program Managers   Support in leadership roles including park safety checks, orientation, registration, and meetings Assist in execution of daily instruction, clinics, and events  

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:   

Ability to remain calm under pressure and meet deadlines.   

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision, agile, and able to pivot quickly.   

Exhibits initiative, responsibility, and accountability.        

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS:  

Must have 1+ years of experience working with kids and/or teens.  

Must have 1+ years of cabin counseling experience 

Experience working in a camp environment is preferred.    

Experience in action sports preferred 
 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:   

+/- 20 employees

BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS:  

As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening.  

Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50 lbs.  

Must be comfortable working in an outdoor and indoor all-season environment.  

Preferred availability: pre-camp and all summer camp weeks.
