• Develop feasibility models and lead technical assessment of prospective projects sites, prepare reports for consideration of the management
• Undertake cost benefit analysis of different project execution models (EPC. Inhouse package integration Hybrid models) technologies, integration costs and associated risks and provide detailed analysis. Operational
• Lead development and optimization and finalization of project layout and detailed design by coordinating with consultants
• Finalize Bill of quantities and package lists for all equipment and work aspects based on the Detailed Project Report and discussion with the Project Procurement team.
• Provide technical specifications. quality specifications and testing procedures to the Project Procurement team for development of tender documents.
• Lead technical evaluation of EPC contractors / equipment vendors against tender terms; identify deviations from specifications and coordinate with Project Procurement team to resolve the same.
• Ensure smooth integration of all equipment as per original design aid signed off detailed engineering schematics from EPC Contractors/equipment vendors.
• Ensure development and finalization of quality plans. as per specific requirement of all projects.
• Ensure smooth coordination between EPC Contractors /equipment vendors and site Team by ensuring incorporation of changes into detailed design, post impact analysis.
• Ensure version control and systematic documentation of all engineering artefacts (designs. plans. test reports etc.),by coordinating with consultants and internal documentation /KM teams.
• Assist in smooth transition Projects to operations and Maintenance by providing guidance and necessary documentation during erection, testing and commissioning.
• Develop sourcing database of consultants and service providers for various project stages (DPR preparation, layout preparation, detailed designing, package identification, Equipment inspection etc.) and function as the representative of Business.
• Ensure adherence to projects schedules through timely completion of engineering utilities (planning. designing. bid reviews. inspection etc.)
• Ascertain impact of regulations and changes in the same on project design. layout and equipment. Financial
• Ensure adherence to approved budget for project, engineering activities.
• Minimize contingent activities liabilities on account of improper design which infringes regulations. People
• Enable capability development of employees within the Engineering team by ensuring implementation of appropriate systems
• Ensure timely goal setting, Monitoring review of performance parameters and feedback to team members.
• Ensure succession planning of all key positions. Mentor and groom high potential subordinates
• Play an active role in the recruitment of core team members across the engineering team
• To head engineering functions including for all the disciplines such as mechanical, Electrical, Control & Instrumentation and civil departments.
• To continuously monitor related activities and to have interactions with PMAG for reviewing the projects are on schedule and to deliver on the target dates.
• To ensure that the cost of packages and overall project is within control
• To develop a strong engineering team with coherence at all levels
• To encourage participation at all levels during meetings so that overall development within the Group exists.
• To ensure that overall internal interactions/interfaces and synergies are maintained between all concerned depts.
