Who You Are
The Head of Auction Operations is responsible for overseeing all operational functions related to the intake, preparation, storage, and shipment of items for auction. This role leads cross-functional teams including receiving, cataloguing, inventory, photography, editorial, authentication, and shipping, ensuring all auction processes run smoothly, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Head of Auction Operations drives operational scalability to meet the company’s growth, focusing on continuous improvement in workflow efficiency, accuracy, and cost optimization.
The Impact you will make here
Leadership and Strategy: Oversee the entire auction operations team, including cataloguing, receiving, photography, editorial, inventory, and shipping departments. Provide leadership in aligning operational strategies with business objectives, ensuring operational readiness to scale with company growth.Operational Management: Manage daily operations of intake, storage, preparation, and shipment of auction items, ensuring workflow accuracy and efficiency. Oversee the optimization of all auction-related processes, collaborating closely with cross-functional departments like sales, photography, and editorial.Process Improvement: Identify operational bottlenecks and opportunities for efficiency. Implement data-driven strategies to streamline workflows, enhance quality, and reduce operational costs across all auction processes.Cross-Department Collaboration: Act as the key point of contact between operations and other departments, including sales, shipping, and customer service, ensuring smooth coordination of auction activities and addressing operational issues promptly.Team Development: Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, high performance, and operational excellence. Ensure the development of staff through training and professional growth opportunities.What You Bring to the Team
