The Basel Measurement and Analytics (BM&A) group, within Treasury Chief Investment Office (TCIO), is a global team of over 100 personnel, and is responsible for partnering with numerous JPM functions, including Treasury, Risk Management, Finance, Risk Reporting, and all Lines of Business to establish control and govern best practices around the Capital and RWA processes. This includes the implementation, calculation and reporting of the firm’s Capital, RWA, and related ratios. BM&A produces firmwide Credit Risk capital results on a monthly basis and oversees the implementation and reporting infrastructure enhancements for Basel III and other RWA-related requirements. This also includes the execution of the capital framework and operating model for future state Basel III endgame across Credit and Operational risk and multiple scenario-impact analyses at the firm level. In addition, the team is responsible for RWA Stress testing (CCAR and Risk Appetite), Quantitative Impact Studies (QIS), and ad-hoc requests for senior management.
Job Responsibilities
Maintaining a best-in-class organization for capital calculations and analysis that supports the firm’s balance sheet, capital management, and policy advocacy efforts. Executing the Earnings close process which runs on an accelerated timeline to maintain the firm’s premier position. Responsible for the integrity and oversight of the capital data submitted, including analytical review and analysis of the variances. Prepare capital results in compliance with rule interpretations and within a framework of robust controls and procedures. Design and maintain a robust control environment for strategic implementations, calculation changes, regulatory reporting, and comprehensive oversight of the results. Be at forefront of implementing the future state Basel III endgame calculations and operating model in collaboration with key partners. Will work across the organization and build relationships across the firms’ various Lines of Business and functional partners. Represent the firm in regular meetings with the various U.S. regulatory agencies to review material issues, present large strategic changes, discuss capital implications, and respond to any regulatory queries. Responsible for leading a team of over 100 people spread across New Jersey, Delaware, Bangalore, and Warsaw along with matrix responsibility to Capital Management, Data Management, Risk Management, and Line of Business partners who provide input to the Capital results. Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field 15+ years of experience in a large financial services organization within Treasury, Risk, Finance, or similar strategy/analytical functions with a focus on the Firms’ capital calculations Comprehensive knowledge of the Basel III rules and imminent Basel III endgame progressions Strong understanding of the regulatory landscape surrounding the capital/RWA rules High sense of urgency to meet tight deliverables and effectively addresses challenges as they arise Proven experience in leading, inspiring, and motivating large global teams, demonstrating vision, creativity, presence, and credibility Proven experience in streamlining process improvements and driving technology enhancements to support long-term strategic goals Skilled in incorporating stakeholder feedback and recommending solutions that align with their priorities, while ensuring adherence to the firm’s direction Strong ability to build relationships, influence and execute initiatives across functions Excellent written, verbal, and technical skills with proven ability to translate complex concepts into user-friendly languages for senior leadership and external stakeholders
