Scania Industrial Operations Asia, SAS, including Scania Production (China) Co Ltd, is in the construction phase to build the 3rd hub in the Scania global production system, bigger than all other factories worldwide. On top of Europe, and Latin America we are now establishing Scania to support mainly Asia from China. Starting from scratch, building the factory, setting up the organisation and processes, and implementing IT locally and globally to support.
We are now looking to replace our Head Controller by recruiting an experienced business controller with relevant Scania experience to join the controlling team in Rugao, China. Our giant project is in the end phase of construction and soon during the mid/end of 2025 transfer focus to operation.
This role includes developing the organisation around Business Control for Industrial Operations Asia, organized within Finance and Business Control locally in China, based in Rugao.
Business control P&L is responsible for managing all the financial aspects of business control for the P&L activity related to SAS, but of course in cooperation with the global organisation. Having the responsibility for consolidation of results in all related functions, following targets and budgets, and presenting to the Head of P&L and the management team of SAS.
We are now looking for a curious & ambitious Business Controller to join our team in Rugao, China.
Your role is to continue leading and developing the controlling team in P&L, being a part of F&BC for all functions, and understanding and keeping control of the journey when we continue to establish the new hub in China. Leading the transformation from focusing on project controlling to operations, establishing a multi-brand factory, and continuing to connect the China hub to the Scania global world.
Main Responsibilities• Financial planning, ie budgets and forecasts
• Follow up on actuals vs financial plans
• As Business controller being both sheriff and advisor, support in how to do things, being a role model and ambassador for Scania Way.
• Being the financial expert in different processes, helping the organisation to do things right within financial processes
• Continue the discussion between SEU and SLA to harmonize the way of working, PVA models, calculations etc.
• Ad-hoc questions: Everything from small isolated questions to complex analyses connected to setting up a new organisation, new processes, new systems, etc.
The work is highly cross-functional, and you will have a close collaboration internally within SAS as well in Europe, and SLA, as well with other controllers in all business areas. This operation is a part of the global organisation and cross-functional work is a part of the daily work.
You will be a part of SAS P&L Management team and report to the Head of P&L; VP Renato Mascarenhas (TC) and be a member of the Head Controller team within Finance & Business Control (TF).
The person we are looking for understands the big picture but does not shy away from zooming into detail when necessary. You need to have great communication and presentation skills, to be seen as support in the activity. You have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in the field of business, industrial engineering, or similar, and relevant work experience. We are looking for someone with +10 years of experience in Business controlling at Scania.
Most work is conducted in close connection with large parts of the Scania organisation, and it is vital that you like working within large networks. You are prepared to work cross-functionally and represent the department in several forums. Our communication within the group is mainly in English, so your level of English, both in talking and writing must be high.
Work LocationThis position is an assignment for 2-3 years, and it´s located in Rugao, China, so you need to be able to relocate.
