**The Position**
We are seeking an experienced, innovative and strategic communications leader to develop and implement R&D communication strategies. This pivotal role will manage key communication topics that directly impact our company's image and reputation as a research-based, innovative pharma player.
As a global communicator, you will be responsible for delivering both internal and external communications across multiple R&D locations worldwide. This role offers a high degree of interaction with cross-functional teams and OneHP business stakeholders, providing a unique opportunity to influence and drive our global strategy.

**Tasks & Responsibilities**
+ In your new role, you will manage an international communications team, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment across multiple sites including Ingelheim, Biberach, Ridgefield, and Vienna.
+ Your role will involve developing and implementing a comprehensive communication and positioning strategy that highlights Boehringer Ingelheim's status as a leading global innovation-driven pharmaceutical company.
+ Cultivating a deep understanding of scientific excellence and innovation within the company will be a key part of your role, ensuring that these principles are communicated effectively to all IU R&D employees.
+ In the global biomedical ecosystem, including Pharma, Biotech, and Academia, you will position the Innovation Unit as a trusted partner and leading R&D institution.
+ Championing the identification and internalization of innovation will be your responsibility, providing strategic support to ensure these processes are integrated smoothly within the company's operations.
+ Collaboration will be a key part of your role, working closely with various functions within the company such as HPBU Comms, HP P&GA, Recruiting Campaigns, Group Media Relations, Group Employee Engagement, and R&D BU site communicators and leadership, to align the global creation, syndication, and distribution of news and editorial materials.
**Requirements**
+ Master's degree in a relevant field, preferably with a science background coupled with long term years of leadership experience in communication, including direction setting, team leading, mentoring, and coaching in a top tier organization
+ Hands-on experience with a broad range of communication tools and techniques
+ In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical R&D and a scientific background and international experience, either in global roles or with significant international exposure
+ Ability to speak the language of scientific and academic communities and translate complex R&D messages into relatable news stories for mainstream audiences
+ Proven track record in handling scientific communications, corporate external/internal communication, reputation management, digital communication, crisis management, and change management
+ A creative and business-savvy communicator with the ability to develop communication strategies that enhance key strategic messages
+ Fluency in English is a must, proficiency in other languages is a plus
