The Head of DEI is the company’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategy execution leader and champion, working with the SVP of Talent Management, Chief Human Resources Officer, the CEO, the senior leadership team  and the Diversity Council  to define the overarching vision and strategy to empower BBW to be a diverse, equitable, and inclusive organization. The Head of DEI partners with other executives and senior leaders to develop, resource, and accelerate DEI strategies and enterprise-level programs that enable, promote, and advance a high-performing, diverse, and inclusive workforce.

Vision and Strategy

·       Drives strategy and actions to activate the enterprise-wide DEI vision and mission, rooted in research and best practice, that can be applied to all we do as a company.

·       Is a DEI thought leader, collaborates across business units and regions, and creates solutions directly with key senior leaders, business leaders, HRBPs, and our communities to promote a diverse and inclusive environment.

·       Ensures strategies and plans are fully reflective of and inspired by a DEI lens and embody the DEI vision and mission and account for regional or country differences.

Planning, Execution, and Accountability

·       Ensures organizational culture, leadership development and practices are anchored in our DEI vision  and actions.

·       In partnership with peers in talent management, develops focused programs in the areas of hiring, retention, rewards, development, and engagement which are specialized for Stores, DCs and Home Oiffce as necessary.

·       Sets, manages, and tracks key company DEI metrics to measure program effectiveness against established goals. Collaborates with executives, the HR team, and other internal partners to ensure review of progress, course corrections, and shared accountability.

·       Drives benchmark equality practices with all employment compliance and ethics policies and programs.

·       The Head of DEI is also responsible for working closely with the SVP of Talent Management, CHRO and CEO to support the delivery of periodic updates to the Board of Directors on strategy, goals, and progress against goals at least annually.

·       Directs and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change.

·       Ensures diversity outcome is reflected in the workforce/workplace & business activities, including marketing materials, suppliers/vendors, and community-facing efforts.

·       Builds relationships with leaders, stakeholders, Communications and HR colleagues to drive diversity-related messages throughout the organization.

·       Educates, partners, consults, and collaborates with business and HR areas to build, incorporate, and manage business corporate inclusion initiatives.

·       Partners with key functions to develop Supplier Diversity strategies to support diversity and inclusion needs & demands based on current & future business needs.

·       Advocates for and provides leadership oversight of diverse spheres of influence, such as diversity councils and IRGs, and ensures their strategic impact on the associates and company.

 

DEI Champion

·       Builds and leverages relationships with the executive team and influences key leaders to create awareness, support of, and advocacy for DEI efforts.

·       Partners with the BBW Foundation and  Community Affairs & Philanthropy team to ensure DEI goals are considered and strategies are aligned.

·       Collaborate with the internal communications team to create communications to increase diversity and inclusion awareness.

·       Through external communication channels, including social and other media, partners with external communications to elevate BBW’s DEI brand and position the company as an employer of choice.

·       Develop consistent communication and feedback mechanisms to ensure we can identify and address      DEI issues impacting the company.

·       Communicates business practices to educate leaders on methods for fostering a fair and inclusive work environment.

·       Active participant on the HR leadership team and will provide input to the ESG executive council.

·       Engages externally in industry and DEI-related speaking opportunities to promote DEI in our professional communities and build BBW’s reputation as a DEI organization.

·       Maintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assesses the impact, and collaborates with senior management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future strategies.

Qualifications

·       10+ years of leadership experience in culture, diversity, and inclusion and/or talent management programs.

·       Expert knowledge in diversity, equity and inclusion, including modern strategies, implementation of best practices and related metrics.

·       Experience developing and executing inclusion initiatives, such as organization-wide diversity training and multicultural events.

·       Experience in strategy design, program development and management. Able to lead and manage complex projects across multiple business units.

·       Executive presence and business savvy with a high demonstration of emotional intelligence

·       Strong business acumen (including external markets) with deep analytical skills.
