Condé Nast Italy is looking for an enthusiastic Head of Editorial Content to lead the local Editorial team of Architectural Digest - the most valued global design authority - and grow the business in the Italian market. This role touches every part of the organization, including editorial, video, social / audience development, events, sales, and marketing, with a central focus on shaping and overseeing content that drives the design and architecture industry conversation forward while creating opportunities for new consumer and advertiser revenue. The ideal candidate has a detailed understanding of the local market and international design and architecture scenario, its major players and audience.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee a team of editors to develop the concepts, packaging, and execution for all content across all platforms, to reach KPIs and satisfy commercial and consumer revenue targets
Develop strategies to drive editorial excellence, audience growth, and revenue, contribute ideas for local and global editorial projects, and bring regional expertise to global projects
With global Audience Development and local Social Media teams, refine and implement growth strategies including engagement, audience-building tactics, and special initiatives in service of KPIs and other targets and goals
Manage ongoing expenses to ensure editorial operations remain in budget
Work with the brand editorial and business leads to define and implement strategic positioning and programming for all market platforms (print, digital, video, social, events, other), maximizing consumer revenue (subscriptions, memberships, e-commerce, experiential, and more) and advertising and licensing opportunities.
Act as the in-market brand ambassador, hosting events, providing creative direction and liaising with clients as required
With global editorial, consumer, and commercial leads, develop and execute global growth initiatives as an editorial partner in support of global revenue, member acquisition, and retention efforts.
Manage ongoing expenses to ensure editorial operations remain in budget
Nurture talent and foster a transparent, respectful, inclusive, and collaborative team environment
Primary Skills & Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years of experience leading editorial or creative development at a media brand or similar industry
Working professional proficiency in Italian and English, written and spoken
A strong passion for Architecture, Home Decor and Design, and a detailed understanding of the local and international industry
Robust network of contacts within the industries as well as relationships with trending architects, designers, celebrities, entrepreneurs, artists and others
Proven leader with the ability to empower, mentor, and inspire a nimble editorial team
Excellent organization and ability to meet and help others meet deadlines
An entrepreneurial mindset, with a focus on new opportunities for events, stories and areas for audience growth
Excellent interpersonal communication skills
