The Head Chubb Engineering Center Greece (CECG) Engineering and CTO strategy will report directly to the Chubb CTO, Head of Global Core Platform Engineering and dotted to the Engineering Center - Greece (CBSG) Head.
The scope of the Head of the CECG Engineering role will be to provide technical oversight and direction to all of the engineering resource in CECG. He/she will also be tasked with implementing and aligning all necessary core technology processes as well as to attract, train, lead and inspire a group of technology professionals that will be core to Chubb’s digital transformation. The Head of CECG Engineering will be responsible for managing the engineering services and outcomes provided by CECG to the various Chubb Insurance Companies globally. He/she will establish a formal collaboration network with other Chubb Engineering Centers across the world (incl. Jersey City, Philadelphia, Monterey, India, etc.). The Head of the CECG Engineering will be responsible for ensuring an optimal organization design driving role clarity, division of labor and clear accountability of its technology functions in alignment with the Global Technology Organization. The Head of CECG engineering will pursue and establish Centers of Excellence in emerging technologies that offer value to the Global Chubb Organization. He/she will collaborate across the organization to promote best practices, processes, and procedures throughout IT, and work closely with CIOs across Chubb in the development of teams to ensure the proper execution of solution design with a focus on digital transformation, data and analytics, IPA, IT Security, and Infrastructure.
In addition, will work closely with the Global CTO to define and implement global strategies and approaches to all aspects of technology including engineering discipline, technology organizational design and technology vendor usage.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Head of CECG Engineering is a crucial executive leadership role with primary responsibilities to include the following:
• Develop and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with the company's overall goals and objectives.
• Adopt, develop and implement appropriate KPI/OKR to understand how the technology organization is progressing in effectiveness and productivity.
• Lead and manage (directly or indirectly) teams of engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and motivation to achieve optimal performance and project outcomes.
• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of innovative, high-quality software solutions and systems that meet business requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our engineering practices and processes.
• Ensure effective project planning, including resource allocation, timeline management, and risk assessment.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, and apply that knowledge to drive innovation and technical excellence within the team.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning within the engineering department.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, external partners, and vendors to support successful project execution.
• Oversee compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and cybersecurity practices to ensure robust data protection and security measures.
• Excellent communication within his/her own team, across a diverse group of IT Leaders and CIOs, and with Business Leaders across diverse geographies such as EMEA, Latin America, North America and India.
• Leading strong engineering teams across various disciplines including Microsoft Azure cloud environment, open-source frameworks like Kafka, Apache Camel, Drools etc, Security and infrastructure automation and digital integration platforms
• Effective management of IT Services based on outcomes and Service Level Agreements.
• Managing and ensuring compliance with Chubb’s architectural principles (business, application, information and technical) in alignment with enterprise architectural principles.
• Demonstrating exceptional leadership skills driving and promoting a culture of focus and collaborative execution with integrity; exhibit strong collaboration skills to ensure the goals of Information Management are met in addition to IT department goals.

• Positioning the Technology group to exploit the evolution of new technologies by providing high level technical consulting and lending expertise to application development teams.
• Ensuring compliance with corporate IT standards, guidelines and best practices with regards to information technology, application security and data privacy, data integrity, and architecture.
• Creating original concepts and approaches for testing/refining existing processes as well as focusing on new solutions and processes.
• Ensuring that all development teams comply with immediate and long-term system stability and quality through product design processes and procedures.
• Establishing and maintaining a high level of trust across regions, within the Technology group and confidence in team’s knowledge of and concern for key business partners business issues.
• Maximizing the business outcome of the platforms that CEC India is responsible for developing and maintaining.
• Ensuring solutions are designed in the most cost-effective manner and develop and work within budget.
• Ensuring Chubb’s brand is well regarded and protected.
• Establishing active network and partnership with local universities, industry bodies and technology / digital forums.
Required Background:
The Head of CECG Engineering will be an accomplished technology executive ideally with experience in leading software development centers that service multi-regions / geographies and that has accomplished recognition of his/her work across his/her client base. The successful candidate will be well versed in contemporary technology such as cloud and digital with a successful track record implementing and managing both Agile & waterfall based organization while applying DevSecOps. He/she will be a sophisticated technologist with good understanding of architecture and engineering with outstanding planning, analytical, and conceptual skills as well as hands-on experience in IT process management. He/she will possess a keen ability to focus and collaboratively execute with proven experience integrating technology, people, and processes.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
• Proven experience in a leadership role within engineering, preferably as a Head of Engineering or similar position.
• Strong technical background with a deep understanding of software development best practices, modern architectural patterns, and agile methodologies.
• Expertise in managing and leading engineering teams, including performance management, talent acquisition, and professional development.
• Hands-on experience in software development and/or system design, with proficiency in languages such as Java, C++, or Python.
• Excellent project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources effectively, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to think strategically.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory standards.
• Experience in the insurance or financial services industry is a plus.

• Superior organizational development skills and adept at attracting, inspiring and retaining an internal workforce to provide the appropriate speed-of-service and quality-of-output.
• Ability to stimulate creativity and lead change and transformational business initiatives. Included is the ability to navigate in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment.
• Excellent communicator, highly effective in stakeholder engagement. This will include strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills for both technical and non-technical audiences in English and/or Spanish.
• 10+ years in application development preferably leading a customer facing digital development factory / center.
• 5+ years of management experience leading teams in agile environment.
• 2+ years of experience leading teams developing cloud-native digital platforms, with an emphasis in Azure cloud environment.
