We are looking for a dynamic Head of Engineering to spearhead our Energy-as-a-Service business. With a strong foundation in electrical engineering, energy efficiency, distributed energy resources, and building technology automation, you will lead our engineering teams across the Americas. This is more than a technical role- it’s a role that calls for entrepreneurial spirit and vision. Reporting directly to the Business Segment Head, you’ll drive the integration of cutting-edge energy technologies, transforming buildings into smart, grid-interactive, sustainable assets. Your impact will be pivotal in shaping our strategic growth and accelerating our mission in the US market.

You’ll make an impact as you:

Lead the design and calculation of electrical systems. Review, sign, and seal project documents. Manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, record drawings, site visits, inspections, and commissioning work (75% remote, 25% in-person). Write and edit specifications; select electrical equipment, systems, and devices. Ensure timely, accurate, and budget-compliant project completion. Develop and manage technical strategies for asset performance management. Provide engineering leadership from concept to construction and asset management. Oversee the creation and management of technical specifications, maintenance planning, and documentation. Support integration with Siemens' proprietary controls and optimization technology. Manage electrical balance of plant maintenance and operations. Collaborate with international teams and partners to drive business development, innovation, and standardization. Maintain relationships with software service providers and support global engineering initiatives. Ensure compliance with regulatory codes, NERC standards (if applicable), and customer/investor requirements. Mentor junior team members and promote continuous improvement, innovation, and safety.

You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

12+ years of professional electrical engineering design experience in the construction industry. 10+ years of senior leadership experience in a startup or as an independent entrepreneur.  Valid Electrical P.E. license and bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. Experience in designing and installing power systems for commercial projects. Strong knowledge of National and International Building Codes and NFPA Standards. Advanced understanding of equipment power requirements, including large-scale standby and emergency power systems with interactive generator controls. Extensive experience in business development / comfortable in client-facing situations. Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, and BlueBeam. Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:

Proven ability to work independently, manage priorities, and mentor junior staff. Preferred experience with Low to Medium Voltage equipment selection, island-able power system protections and specifications. Strategic thinker with the ability to achieve long-term objectives and demonstrate flexibility. Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity, and team-oriented.  German proficiency.

The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
